How to get to Roxford Lodge Hotel

About 12km/7.5miles, Dublin Airport is situated to the north of the City Centre. The airport is not serviced by train so the only way to get to the Roxford Lodge Hotel is by bus, taxi or by car.

  • The Air coach operates a direct service between Ballsbridge and Dublin Airport. This service runs every hour on the hour, 24 hours a day. The cost of this coach is €8 (Euros) per person one way and for return it is €14 (Euros) per person.
  • You can purchase the tickets for this coach at the Air Coach bus stop at the airport. When buying your tickets make sure that you are getting on the bus which brings you to Ballsbridge as there are several of these coaches and they all take different routes!
  • The stop that you will need to get off at is the School House Hotel which is literally less than a 2 minute walk from there to our Hotel. When you get off the bus outside the School House Hotel, literally just walk in the same direction as the bus goes and you will see our Hotel at the first bus stop for regular buses on that road! It is very convenient! When returning back to the airport, you can catch the air coach the stop on the opposite side of the road that you got off at. It will take approximately 40 minutes by Air Coach to our hotel. For more information: www.aircoach.ie
  • Or, you can also take the public bus, the Airlink 747, from Dublin Airport to O'Connell Street. From O'Connell Street head towards O'Connell Bridge and here you can get the bus number 4 or 7 which will leave you right outside our Hotel, ask the driver to let you off at the second bus stop on Northumberland Road. The Airlink 747 costs €6.00 one way per adult or €10.00 return per adult.
  • The bus number 4 or 7 is approximately €1.95 to €2.15 per adult.

You can also take a taxi from the airport to our hotel, which are located outside the arrivals hall of Dublin airport. A taxi will cost you anything from €30.00 upwards depending on traffic and the amount of passengers. A taxi should usually take 25 minutes to 30 minutes (depending on traffic).

Departing Dublin Airport:

  • Drive to the Airport Roundabout take the second exit onto the M1 (signposted Dublin).
  • Take the Dublin Port Tunnel (charges vary depending on time of day - ensure you have Euros)
  • Once you arrive at the end of this Tunnel, just follow the sign for the N11 to Junction 52 (which is the corner of Haddington Road and Northumberland Road)
  • We are located on Route 118 which is 200 yards from this junction.

Departing Dublin Port:

  • Head west on Alexandra Rd toward 1 Branch Rd S
  • Follow R131 and R111 to Northumberland Rd/R118
  • Turn left onto East Wall Rd/R131
  • At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto East-link Toll Bridge/R131 and pass the 3Arena.
  • At the next roundabout (junction 79) take the 1st exit onto the R131 signposted Dun Laoghaire N11 via Toll Bridge.
  • Cross the River Liffey and over the East Link Toll Bridge. The charge of he East link Toll Bridge is €1.75 for Private Motor Cars
  • Continue forward onto the R131.
  • At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Sean Moore Road/R131
  • Turn right onto Beach Rd/R131/R802
  • Turn left onto Church Ave/R111
  • Continue to follow R111
  • Go straight through junction onto Londonbridge Road/R111
  • Continue to follow R111
  • You will go under a railway bridge just after the Old Spot Pub which will be on your right hand side
  • You will come to set a traffic lights where you will see Slattery's pub on your right hand side.
  • Go straight through that junction onto Haddington Road. On your left hand side, you will see the Beggars' Bush pub
  • Go pass that pub and you will come to a set of traffic lights and take a left there and the Roxford Lodge Hotel is just a bit up from those traffic lights on your left hand side, just at the public bus stop there.
  • Follow all signs for Dublin city center
  • Travel past Heuston station onto the quays with the River Liffey running parallel on your right
  • Continue down the quays as far as O'Connell Street turning right and crossing O'Connell Street bridge
  • Travel straight on to D'Olier Street
  • Veer right travelling parallel to Trinity college on your left
    following the road around to the base of Grafton street. Continue straight on
  • Travel straight along Nassau Street to Merrion Square with Merrion Square Park on your right and continue straight onto Lower Mount Street
  • Crossing the Mount Street bridge, over the canal, you will come to set of traffic lights, go straight through those lights and you will see our hotel just a few yards up the road on the left hand side at the public bus stop
     

  • Just after the Beggar's Bush pub, turn left and you will be heading down a small laneway called Lansdowne Park
  • Keep driving until you see the sign for the Roxford Lodge Hotel
  • Ring the gates and the entrance to the back door from the car park is on the right hand side
  • TRAVELLING BY CAR FROM THE MAIN ROUTES – Cork, Galway, Mayo, Limerick
  • Follow all signs for Dublin city centre
  • Travel past Hueston station onto the quays with the Liffey running parallel on your right
  • Continue down the quays as far as O'Connell Street turning right and crossing O'Connell Street bridge
  • Travel straight on to D'Olier Street
  • Veer right travelling parallel to Trinity college on your left following the road around to the base of Grafton street. Continue straight on
  • Travel straight along Nassau Street, Merrion Street with the square on your right and Lower Mount Street
  • Crossing the Mount Street bridge, over the canal, you will come to set of traffic lights, go straight through those lights and you will see our hotel just a few yards up the road on the left hand side at the public bus stop

  • Once you cross the Mount Street bridge, over the canal, you will come to a set of traffic lights
  • Turn left at these traffic lights and on your right-hand side you will see a pub called the Beggar's Bush
  • Turn right just before that pub and you will be heading down a small laneway called Lansdowne Park
  • Keep driving until you see the sign for Roxford Lodge Hotel
  • Ring the gates and the entrance to the back door from the car park is on the right hand side

About 5km/3.11 miles, Heuston rail station serves the West and South of Ireland and is located west of Trinity College. You can reach the Roxford Lodge Hotel from Heuston Station by LUAS and DART or by Taxi.

Take the LUAS Red Line at Heuston Train Station, direction Connolly Station. Get out at Connolly Station and take the DART to Lansdowne Road Dart Station (direction Bray or Greystones).

  • Once you leave Lansdowne Dart station, turn left and walk down Lansdowne Road until you come to a set of traffic lights 
  • Go straight through those traffic lights and keep going straight until you come to the next set of traffic lights.
  • You will be walking along by the Clyde Court hotel and Ballsbridge Towers hotel
  • Once you reach the next set of traffic lights, turn right
  • You will now be on Northumberland Road, keep walking straight and eventually you will reach our Hotel as it will be on the right hand side of the street
  • Lansdowne Dart Station is literally 5 minutes walk from our hotel.

Taxis from Heuston Station to the Roxford Lodge Hotel takes around 25 minutes (depending on traffic) and costs between €10-€15.


  • From Nassau Street at Trinity College (city centre), travel along Merrion Square and Lower Mount Street
  • Cross the canal at Mount Street Bridge and you will be on Northumberland Road
  • You will come to set of traffic lights
  • Go straight through those traffic lights and continue along Northumberland Road and our hotel will be on the left hand side at the public bus stop there
